Problem: When you try to install HP Branded OEM Media (example – Server 2008 R2) as a VM on an HP server you get the following error:

THIS SYSTEM IS NOT SUPPORTED PLATFORM

Solution:
When you create a new virtual machine in VMWare ESXi you need to browse the datastore and find the “.vmx” file for the virtual machine and open it with Notepad++. You will need to add an additional line at the bottom of the text file that looks like this:

SMBIOS.reflectHost = "TRUE"

Save the file and upload it to its original location overwriting the original file. You should be able to install you OEM Branded Media.
